Hi there! I’m Ethan, a multi-instrumentalist and professional guitar tutor.
I have a decade of experience In guitar and bass and nearly 2 decades in piano, along with 6 years experience as a guitar technician. I run my own business called EW Music Services, and am now teaching lessons with THÊ DEPØ Studios in Plymouth too!
My general taste in music has always been varied, I love everything from the classics such as rock and roll, blues and jazz, to more specialised genres such as surf rock, funk, city pop, j-rock, reggae and Kayōkyoku. But you’ll find a lot of my sound and styles come from 80s Japan, with their blend of extremely technical playing and pure melodic sound, the band Boowy and their lead guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei are my main inspirations. I have previous experience in both live performance and studio production, being the lead guitarist, vocalist and pianist In a band called Hot Water. As well as doing solo film score music, creating 5 albums of such, and session musician work along side all this.

What to expect in sessions with me.
I teach beginner to professional, and everything in between. I’m a musician with over a decade in professional experience so I can teach you all you need to know, plus some fun extras! Whether you’re learning guitar for fun, relaxation or for live performance, I always aim to teach exactly what you’d need. I always do my best to keep sessions relaxed, and be as helpful as I can, while giving you all you need to progress, tweaking your technique as we go, so you’ll be playing great.
I do like to make people laugh in my sessions, so you’ll get a lot of jokes and fun! I teach from ages 10 and up, with a strong focus on helping each individual progress week by week
